Please revisit this website frequently to get the latest updates on your reunion weekend.Your volunteer committee has been working since August of 2011 to create a reunion weekend that will be both inviting and accessible to as many of our classmates as possible. Light appetizers will be provided. A large room has been reserved for our group that has a view of the beautiful Alamitos Bay.? Attendees are welcome to move to the restaurant bar around 9:00 or 10:00 PM to enjoy the live music.? Dress for the mixer is casual. Please, do not plan to ?reserve? a table for the evening since attendees will be mingling throughout the night.Coffee, iced tea and water are included in your registration fee.Soft drinks and alcohol will be available for purchase at the no-host bars.? The reunion committee has worked hard to keep the cost of this event down. Be assured however that we have not compromised food or fun!? Expected dress is nice casual and there is no ?theme? for the evening.? Please dress comfortably. You may want to bring along a light jacket or wrap in case you wish to spend part of the evening on the large deck overlooking Alamitos Bay.Online registration will be made available very soon with credit card or payment by check options.? For your financial planning, here are the per person fees for the reunion Saturday night main event:

• The registration ?early bird? fee is $60 per person if paid before May 1^st.

• The fee is $70 per person if paid between May 1st and July 20^th.

• After July 20^th, a limited number of spots will be available at the cost of $80 per person. Online registration using a credit card will close on July 25.

• $80 per person CASH ONLY will be accepted at the reunion check-in table. Bring the exact amount to the reunion please if you will be paying that night.

A prepared name tag will be provided to you (and your guest if any) at check-in if you pre-register. Bring along your camera so you can create your own photo album and share your photos with other classmates. No professional photographer, band or D.J. will be provided. However, we will still hear some great songs from ?our day? and some more recent dance hits as well. Yes, there will be dancing later on in the evening after dinner if you wish to dance.Sunday Picnic on the Wilson High CampusThe Reunion Weekend will continue on Sunday with a picnic held in the Wilson High School quad from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.? If you haven?t been to the school for a while, you may be surprised by the changes that have taken place.? Bring your family,?your own food and drinks,?chairs and/or blankets and enjoy the day with your fellow classmates.? Plan to park on the Park Avenue side of the school and look for the open entrance, probably near the center of the block.? There is no charge to attend this event.It?s been forty years since we graduated from high school. A lot has happened since then. We don?t look like teenagers anymore, and we fortunately don?t think like teenagers anymore. ?We?ve grown up.The reunion weekend is a chance to spend time with people who share similar memories and experiences. We were all ?there?, and we?re happy that you?re still ?here.?They say that you can never go back. Well, for just one weekend, maybe you can.

Big Heat storms to victory in the 515m Grade A2 race ?

Big Heat continued his good run of form, winning the 515 metres Grade A2 race at Hove on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. He was not the favourite, but still ended up on top, earning a cash prize of ?129.

The triumphant greyhound was also victorious in his previous race at Hove, thus he was given a good starting price of 3 to 1 by the bookmakers. He certainly lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end.

Big Heat completed the race distance in 30.32 seconds, after breaking in from trap number two. He got off to a decent start, and kept in increasing his speed as the finish throughout the race. He was unable to build up a big lead, but still managed to end up ahead of the runner up by 0.07 seconds.

K. J. Tester?s trained dog is the son of Green Heat, out of Strickeen View and was born in February, 2009.

Second place went to Fabulous Shanty, who ran really well, but failed to end up on top of the table. She could have won, but did not get off to a good start. This cost her some time and she had to settle for the runner up place.

J. E. Gammon?s trained bitch went into the race from trap number five, and completed the overall distance in 30.39 seconds. She was given a starting price of 6 to 1 by the bookmakers, but exceeded expectations in the end.

The runner up bitch is the daughter of Fabulous Snowy, out of Bright Ebony and was born in January, 2010. She was the youngest participant in the event.

Ayamzalady, trained by S. A. Cahill, managed to complete the race in third place, after popping out from trap number one. She had a starting price of 7 to 2, and just managed to finish ahead of, Romeo Neo, by a short head?s distance.

The third placed bitch is the daughter of Westmead Hawk, out of Wee Grass Hopper and was born in May, 2009.

Further down the order, Romeo Neo completed the race in fourth place. He was also trained by Gammon and had a starting price of 9 to 2.

The final two places were taken by Da Begger and Swift Lesson. The latter was the favourite to win with a starting price of 2 to 1, but failed to make an impression.

Overall, the race was quite an interesting one, as the top three fought hard for victory.

$100,000 Prize: Prove Quantum Computers Impossible

A similar question could've been asked years ago, back when transistors didn't exist: 'I'm now offering a US$100,000 award for a demonstration, convincing to me, that scalable personal computing is impossible in the physical world.'

Using only technology available then, the answer would've to scale down tubes to the minimal size and go "well this computer's too weak to do anything useful, ergo it's impossible to have a personal computer that isn't just a toy computer." Then transistors happened.

These kinds of things are stupid, because you're asking for a demonstration to an engineering problem, when engineering is always capped by scientific research. You could have a perfectly "convincing" proof today and tomorrow a new discovery crumbles it all to the ground.

Unless a theoretical and fundamental proof can be made that quantum computing is impossible, there's no reason to say that it is, and I have serious doubts such a proof can be made considering what has been accomplished thus far. Current limitations are engineering issues, but nothing fundamental is stopping a useful and practical quantum computer from existing.

Mac Miller Makes His Picks For Next Big Pittsburgh MCs

Miller took MTV News back to the 'Burgh and introduced us to some of his city's hottest up-and-coming talent.

Yes, the world knows Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller, but Pittsburgh has a wealth of hip-hop talent. With the Steel City's two breakout stars already accounted for, MTV News took a trip to the 'Burgh to see who's got next.

"A lot of people are talented. There are just a million talented people out there," Miller told MTV News when he took us on a tour through his hometown in December.

Acts like Boaz, Chevy Woods, B White and Mayo of the 58's, Jabari X and Varsity Squad have been repping Pittsburgh locally for some time now, and while Mac supports all the city's homegrown talent, if he had to pick one act to break out nationwide, it would be the Come Up, a.k.a. the duo of Vinny Radio and Franchise.

"I brought them on tour and I plan on bringing them out on tour, so if it's up to me, they're gonna be the next people that come out the 'Burgh," Miller said. "But there's definitely a lot more people who could; it's not just Vinny and Fran."

Mac Miller introduces Pittsburgh's hottest producers.

The Come Up exist as a part of a larger hip-hop collective called the 58's, along with rappers B White and Mayo. That union exemplifies the type of unity that exists in Pittsburgh's rap scene.

"It's a small city ... so pretty much we've all been familiar with each other for a long time," Franchise said. "Everybody in this city who's pretty much doing it legit, we've all been trying to get it and put the city on."

Taylor Gang's Chevy Woods echoed a similar sentiment. "Everybody's hardworking, and it's not like a big music scene out there, so when you got somethin', you just go with it," he said. "Everybody sees the light that shines on [Wiz Khalifa] and Mac [Miller] and now it's trickling down to everybody else."

Wiz Khalifa motivates Pittsburgh's up-and-coming artists.

There is a pretty diverse group of rap characters that come out of Pittsburgh. Wiz is a hitmaker who dedicates a lot of his catalog to partying and getting high, while Mac embodies a youthful spirit. Boaz is street, and female MC Kellee Maize spits sociopolitical bars. "To be honest, I do think Boaz is right there on the cusp. I think I'm maybe close to the cusp too," Kellee said, laughing.

"I just bring that underground feel," Boaz said, describing his deeply-rooted street sound. "I embrace the culture of that poverty line that I'm speaking about."

For years, Time Bomb has been a epicenter for Pittsburgh hip-hop. More than just a clothing store, Time Bomb has become a place for local 'Burgh MCs to congregate and sling their mixtapes to hungry fans. The shop's owner, Brick, has seen many young artists walk through his doors, including Miller and Khalifa. When it comes to the future of Pittsburgh hip-hop, Brick is a wide-eyed optimist.

"I think Mac and Wiz opened the door, but there's gonna be an army of producers, an army of rappers, and they're gonna be all different. People know: Pittsburgh, it is what it is, it's a hardworking town," he said. "I can name 100 people, because I want everyone to make it from here, you understand? This is Pittsburgh."
