MOGA Android gaming system gets October release date by VR ...

The MOGA Android gaming system will release on 21 October, enhancing the role of smartphones as gaming devices and adding more competition for Nintendo's 3DS and Sony's PlayStation Vita handheld consoles.

?

The system works by letting users attach their Android smartphone to the pocket-sized controller, utilising the phone's display as the gaming screen and giving gamers much more control of what they're doing through a full slew of traditional gaming keys, including action buttons, analogue sticks and shoulder buttons. A case to store the controller in is also provided.

?

The system includes the MOGA Pivot app, where games can be downloaded from. Two free games are included, Sonic CD and PAC-MAN by NAMCO. Other games for the device have been developed by Gameloft, Atari, Sega, Remedy Entertainment and others, including The Dark Knight Rises HD, Asphalt 7: Heat HD, Dungeon Hunter 3, and Death Rally.

?

?

?Gamers are already walking around with phones with exceptional screens and fast chips,? said Eric Bensussen, president of PowerA, the company behind MOGA. ?For under $50, they can clip that phone into the MOGA controller and finally get a console quality gaming experience anywhere.?

?

MOGA will be available in the US and will sell for $49.99. A smartphone with Android 2.3 or higher is required.
