The process of managing a group of people is not an easy task. Managers should have the ability to get a group of people with their own thoughts and opinions to think in a certain way, with the goal of accomplishing something. People try to strongly hold on to their opinions and to get them to achieve a goal with minimum resistance requires a level of skill and finesse. The best managers are those that can communicate ideas so that they become a shared idea by everyone else in a team. Tyrants choose to force their ideas through actions that induce fear and dread. This is not the definition of proper or right management. Right management means that a significant thing is achieved through the collective hard work of a group but they also benefit from finishing the task. A manager should ensure that each team member can actually benefit from the work that they are trying to accomplish. It is important for each team member to be able to share the load and the labor towards achieving one goal. Being a manager also means that you can listen very well. Most people think that just because they are the assigned leader, that they should also do all of the talking. A team leader needs to give each member equal opportunities to speak and voice out their thoughts. The leader should also take responsibility for the good and bad consequences of very team member?s actions. A couple of years ago, many companies didn?t care about their impact on the environment. However in this day and age more and more people are making sure that their managers can formulate an effective organisational change management. Managers have to take into consideration various factors like revenue, environmental effects, labor involvement and a lot more. Basically, a good manager has the ability to formulate a plan and translate it into reality. Strategic planning is always crucial to the health and direction of a company. Strategic planning enables the managers to look at the effects of a plan from an over-all viewpoint. The manager gathers all the necessary information from his team and then determines the best plan of action with the least risk and the biggest pay-off. These are all covered as a leader designs a business strategy. A company needs visionaries for it to flourish and prosper. The business leader sets the goals, the expectations, plans the structures to be used, designs the procedures and finally makes objective assessments. One can easily say that a company fails or succeeds depending on the quality of leaders that they hire. Finally, a manager should be able to maintain a certain degree of commitment to work for long periods of time. It?s important to be as consistent as possible when one is dealing with business matters. How can a company benefit from a target clientele when they are unable to hold their attention and patronage? There are many aspects to being a manager and this includes the positive and negative. Devising a strategic plan or completing an environmental management plan may not be an easy thing to do, but once a manager gets used to planning stuff, he or she will find life easy to master. As a manager, make sure that the first thing you handle would be the proper functioning of your team.
