If you want to join an RP, just click on the newest five roleplays to see if there's anything you like. The Roleplayers Wanted part of the OOC section should be your second stop, and Interest Checks in the same section are also worthwhile to check out.
Joining a long-running roleplay will be more difficult (to find and to catch up), but it's not at all impossible. Just make sure it's still alive!
