The School of Business at the Australian College of Kuwait invites applications for multiple positions in the School of Business_ Business Degree Program at the rank of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer, starting in Spring 2013. Areas of special interest are in the disciplines of Management, Business Law, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Operation Management, and Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Each position will be responsible for teaching 4 courses per semester, engaging in quality applied research/scholarly activities, and participating in service activities such as curriculum development, student recruiting, program assessment, program development and leadership, student advisement, and committee leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Ph.D., DBA and JD in any of the above disciplines and from an accredited AACSB institutions.
  • Evidence of publication.
  • Experience in teaching business undergraduate courses.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Teaching and Research related to one or more of the following areas: Management , Business law, Business Ethics, Marketing research, Consumer Behavior, Entrepreneurship, Sales and Advertisement, Organizational Behavior, Operation Management, Human Resources Management, and Business Communications.
  • Interest and/or experience in developing business-related degree programs, establishing centers of excellence, and curriculum development.
  • Experience using technology in teaching, and experience teaching hybrid web or online courses.
  • Experience with research activities that involve undergraduate student participation.
  • Academic experience working on a campus with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.
THE UNIVERSITY: The Australian College of Kuwait has been established under Kuwait Law 34/2000, governing private universities in Kuwait, to provide internationally recognized and accredited education and training to the Business, Engineering, and Maritime sectors. It was licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under Amiri Decree 141/2003 and commenced operation in October 2004. The Australian College of Kuwait is a private institution providing tertiary-level education to 2000 students in the State of Kuwait. Programs at ACK lead to vocational diplomas and degrees in a number Engineering and Business disciplines. The language of instruction is English. Each year, approximately 200-300 students are accepted into the business degree program. The business degree programme is delivered in cooperation with the Victoria University in Australia, and is accredited both, locally and internationally. THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS:
The School of Business consists of two departments: The Department of Business Degree Program and the Department of Business Diploma. The Department of Business offers the BBA degree in management and BBA degree in marketing. The Department of Business Diploma offers Diploma in Management, Diploma in Marketing and Diploma in Human Resources.
