OOC: OOC
Still need convincing? How many of you find yourselves tired of role plays that seem to go nowhere, or seem repetitive? Ever find yourself wishing a story line can be more then just romance or war? Do you want to conquer your enemy, gain control of the land that rightfully belongs to you, show a women can wield a sword, save a dear friend from death and assure his kingdom is ruled by his true heir, find love, lead an army, travel the land, bring back the dragons, and once again have peace among the seven kingdoms ?
Perhaps the role of justice isn't your thing. The good does not always win, and blood is shed. Maybe you wish to betray your brothern and claim the crown, rule the kingdom as the only king, do away with the bastard seed of your father and any other so there is no threat, have an affair in secret and give birth to children with no noble blood, or you wish to kill the king of Kingslanding to assure "purity"...and succeed.
"The Tale of Six Kings" has it all. Nothing is certain, and nobody is truly to be trusted. Your wife and in-law may plan your death, your son may not be from your seed, your friend will cut your throat in your sleep, your betrothed will slay your father and make you his whore, and your sister will fall for your enemy.
Still wondering why you should join? Nothing is ever as it seems. This is a fantasy that must be unraveled with clues giving throughout the plot. No winning side is certain, and the possibilities are endless.
Q&A's Was this your idea alone?
What if I like a character, but not the pre-made back story? Any characters I have made up to be picked will somehow play a very important role in the plot. I am not too strict. I am aware you will want to make the character your own. As long as you keep the basics: Bloodline, last name, and kingdom status...I don't see why we can not come to some sort of agreement with the rest.
What if I do not like any of the pre-make characters? Make your own! As long as they do not conflict with another persons ideas or the story line, you pretty much have free range. I can always tweek the plot as needed if I feel you have provided extra information that can better the role play.
How will romance work? This is a role play based on kingdoms...how could it not? From betrothed couples, childhood sweethearts lost, steamy affairs, and anything in between...there will be romance among some players. Also, feelings change and new flames can ignite. Do not get tied down in the first few pages and never renew anything. Change and problems keeps a role play going! Also keep in mind, age gaps were not as large as a problem back then as they are today. Once a girl had her first bleed, she was looked to as a women.
How many players are you looking for? As of now I am looking to fill all open spots.I'm sure most people will wish to double in case their character is killed off later. The number of characters is unlimited, but I'd like to limit the players to nine as of now (If I can get that many). If I feel I have an advanced group that can keep up with a majority of people, I will accept more.
How fast will this role play move? I would like to change the setting at least every two pages. That will keep individuals from becoming bored, and assure everyone in involved. Of course you do not have to wait until we reach your area to post. Post among your group at the time, and keep up with the OOC often to assure everyone is on the same page.
How can there be people posting in different setting during the role play and people not be confused? I already figured this out! When you post ,I will make it a requirement to type at the top of your post the location you are posting your character(s) in. Also I will do a brief summery in the OOC per location for everyone to know who is where and what happened.
Is it just the bastard children that remain or just sons that were not around when kingdom fell to Godwin's Army? Both. As many know, kings had MANY bastard children, and Godwin was not aware of all of them... how could he? So some did remain by hiding out.
As for the sons, it's pretty much the same. When word was released about Godwin's plans, some heirs were hidden away as servants children and managed to escape the wrath. Godwin's army never actually checked for the possibility of this happening, so it went by unnoticed.
With the "Role of Others", would be possible for there to be some other resistance than just Claridge vs Godwin?
This is correct. Just as in Game of Thrones...there is more to the story then what is written in black and white. There are others that crave power or have a score to settle....and they will play a huge part in the plot.
Is the setting you've put together related to the GoT from series, like a hundred years later or something.
Yes....but no? Um, it is like game of thrones, and does follow some character traits...but in no way do I want it playing out like the series. 100 years later? No, it's the exact same time frame. It my plot the kingdoms were built by the Gods will, and were giving to each of the six families to be passed on and ruled along side one another. Generations later greed and power took over causing the fall of the kingdoms and leading to Godwin taking over the Land of the Gods....Kinglandings...and killing off the remaining heirs that may stand a chance of reclaiming what is theirs.
The thrones made by the Gods have a HUGE role is the plot.....it's why Godwin fused all the thrones together....but that comes later.
I will post more questions and answers as I am asked them or think of any.
