If you ask the average person, they?d say no. Why is this? Because of a bad market, because the media says so, the reality is that most people don?t know the answer to this question. Truth is it?s always a good time to invest in real estate, if you buy at the right prices! There are always good and bad times to buy houses, but only if you?re going to live in the house. As investors, we follow the buy low, sell high method. Unless you know you can buy a house at a price that took into account all the needed repairs, all the holding costs (taxes, insurance, interest, etc.), fluctuations in the market, closing costs and selling expenses and still make a respectable profit, you shouldn?t buy it simple as that. We don?t invest for our health; this is a ?for profit? business!
The key is to be knowledgeable enough to properly evaluate deals so you?re as certain as possible that you?ll make money on each and every deal. More importantly, you need a way to generate leads for potential buys that will provide you with enough opportunities to buy houses at a discount.
Home investing is not a business for the faint of heart, and certainly not as easy as the late night infomercials make it look. If you?re focused, and follow the HomeVestors system, real estate investing is a terrific business that provides many opportunities to prosper.
