Zero Financing Credit Cards are available from several well-known issuers. These include Citibank, Fleet, American Express, First USA and Discover.
If you have great credit or excellent credit you should be able to apply and receive one of these cards. There are several issuers that will take applications online for these credit cards. You do need to be careful though. You can obtain the zero financing credit card but if you slip up one time and are late with your payment you will be charged their regular interest rates. These rates can be pretty high and once they start charging this rate to you it is really hard to get out of the high interest rate.
How will I know if a Zero Financing Credit Card is a good deal?
You will need to do a lot of research on these zero financing credit cards. You will need to find out how much your interest rate will jump if you have to make a payment a few days late. Also you will need to check into the late charges that will be charged to you. Discover will charge you 15.00 to 35.00 depending on the amount of your balance. With a zero financing credit card from Fleet you will be charged 35.00 late fee and will also be hit with a 21.99% interest rate if you are late with a payment to them.
Also they may want to increase your interest rate if you make other payments on other credit cards late. It is also a great idea to pay the balance on these credit cards every month to avoid additional interest charges. The best thing to do is research these credit cards to find the card that is best for your situation.
