Employee Charged with Stealing Nearly $20,000 from Goetz Credit Union

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) A credit union employee faces a felony stealing charge after she allegedly stole nearly $20,000 from her employer.

Christie Lynn Young, 43, was charged Tuesday in Buchanan County.

According to Det. Richard Shelton of the St. Joseph Police Department, Young allegedly stole money from Goetz Credit Union while she was an employee there.

Goetz Credit Union, located at 1905 Howard Street in St. Joseph, reported the missing money to police on July 5.

The money, totaling $19,965.10 according to court documents, was allegedly stolen between January 2 and July 3 of this year.

Young?has been?released on a personal recognizance bond.
