NSA Case: Nicaraguan President Says US Threats Are Working Against Them

Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega claims the things the United States is doing to get its hands on Edward Snowden are ridiculous.

Nicaragua, one of the three Latin American countries to offer asylum to Snowden, hasn?t really been in the center of attention in the past few weeks, unlike Venezuela and Bolivia.

However, Ortega stepped out in support for the NSA whistleblower, saying once more that he would be welcome in his country, RT reports.

?I think the threats coming from the United States work against them. It?s ridiculous. A power like the United States threatening a young man who?s had enough courage to tell the truth about something that went against his principles. A man who realized at a certain point that he could cross the line of what is called intelligence work,? Ortega says.

Furthermore, he claims Snowden saw the line between intelligence and the lawlessness of the situation that had nothing to do with secret operations or the war on terror.
